Anmol Karnik
I was born in Mumbai, India. At age fifteen I began training with ad filmmaker Robert John Pinto on Television Video Commercials (TVC). At age seventeen, I moved to Los Angeles and completed an undergraduate degree in filmmaking with an emphasis on content editing - learning foundations of editing on the Steenbeck editing system and advancing to Avid and Final Cut Pro at a later stage.
While studying in the United States, I interned with various film production companies including Warner Bros. Television, California Film Commission and edited films for Oscar nominated short filmmaker Gregg Helvey and Cannes competition nominee Mason Richards. The films I have edited or directed have screened at various film festivals worldwide including the Cannes Film Festival (2013, 2011), Burbank Film Festival (2011) and have won awards at the International Family Film Festival Hollywood (2011), Bayou City International Film Festival (2011).
In September 2011, I was invited to join Kingston University London to study a master’s degree in the Business Management of Creative Industries where I successfully completed the course with highest distinction. While in England, I worked as an assistant camera operator and in the logistics team of the 2012 London Olympics.
I am an avid traveler and have a thrust new adventures and experiences. I also maintain a social blog and when not in production, I'm busy writing story ideas, scripts or short novels. I am a wine lover with Argentinian Malbec from the Mendoza province being my favorite grape of all. Currently, I live in Mumbai and work on TVC's as the lead video editor and post production supervisor for a production company called The Velvet Light Trap. My work focuses on the African and South East Asian markets.
